This is my personal finance journal dedicated to investing, bank deals, money management, etc.  It is always best to start investing as soon as possible and by creating a website about it, it will help me stick to my goals while helping others along the way.  I am a recent college graduate in my mid 20s living in the northeast.

Ever since WaMu bought Providian Financial (credit score agency) they have offered a credit card with no annual fee that will monitor your credit score every month.  It is very useful to have the card to have a quick estimate of your FICO credit score. 

Usually when you request your credit score it requires an inquiry to be generated which stays on your credit report.  However, with estimated FICO scores such as the one given by this card, it does not generate any inquiries.

So I have signed up for this card and "sock-drawered" it and only ever use the online account login to check my FICO score. 

If you are doing balance transfers or app-o-ramas, then this card is a must have.  When I started my balance transfer app-o-rama, I used the card to check my score before I applied for all my cards and then checked it again after I applied to see what the effect of applying to all those cards were.
